The 18th annual California Capital Airshow, presented by Sacramento County in partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova, returns to the Sacramento skies Saturday, July 13 & Sunday, July 14 from 3:30-9:30 PM daily! Located at the historic Mather Airport, this beloved community event is perfect for kids of all ages, from the youngest aviation enthusiast to high schoolers interested in pursuing careers in STEM! 1. Miles of Aircraft on Displays
At the California Capital Airshow, families can get up close and personal with a wide range of aircraft, including those from the military, first responders, local law enforcement, UPS, FedEx, and more. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the inside of some of the world's largest aircraft and learn about the fascinating world of aviation from the experts themselves!
2. Kid-Friendly and Educational Activities
The airshow offers numerous interactive and educational exhibits from local nonprofits, educational organizations, and businesses. These exhibits are designed with children in mind, featuring fun activities, engaging educational content, and exciting giveaways. It’s a perfect opportunity for kids to learn and have fun at the same time.
3. Amazing Flying Performances
Prepare to be amazed by more than three hours of evening aerial performances each day from 6-9:30 PM. These performances are choreographed to music and conclude with a spectacular pyrotechnics, fireworks and 500-drone show. This year’s lineup includes the Frecce Tricolori (the Italian Air Force Jet Team), the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Demo Team, the U.S. Air Force F-35 and C-17 Demo Teams, along with several talented civilian performers. 4. Children Are FREE in General Admission!
One of the best aspects of the California Capital Airshow is its affordability for families. Each Adult General Admission ticket includes six free Youth/Children (ages 15 and under) tickets. With plenty of food vendor booths throughout the event, there’s something to satisfy every craving and ensure everyone stays full and hydrated throughout the day.
